Your privacy and security are built into Sidekick's core design.
Your Data Stays Local
Sidekick processes everything locally on your machine. Your source code, project files, and configurations never leave your system unless you explicitly send them to an AI provider.
Direct AI Communication
When you interact with AI models, your messages go directly to the provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.). Sidekick acts as a bridge - we never store, log, or intercept your conversations.
What We Don't Collect
- Source code or file contents
- Chat history or AI responses
- Personal usage patterns
- Project metadata
Secure by Design
- API keys stored locally in your environment
- No cloud sync or telemetry
- Open communication with AI providers only when you initiate
